Tableware: what’s the alternative to plain, white dinnerware sets?
We are all in favour of white dinnerware sets, but aim to avoid the tedious plain, white restaurant version.
Go for something with a bit of tradition and maybe an irregular finish. We opted for the stunning Campagna collection from Tuscany made in old fashioned kilns in a family run pottery outside Florence.
Another alternative to the usual whitedinnerware sets is to pick something that has an interesting shape. We produced the Amalfi range in a slightly oval shape to introduce the change.
For a more romantic table, chose a white dinnerware set that has more detail in the finish. The Verona range has pretty scalloped contours and a touch of soft grey distressing in the glaze around the edges.
When it comes to more casual dining, like breakfast, there is no need to stick with white. We like to mix and match colours through mugs, bowls, plates and even egg cups. In the winter you can go for a nice soft taupe or grey and then introduce a summery duck egg for the sunshine.
