Shabby chic bathroom, French bathroom furniture, free standing bath tubs, double bathroom sink, French bathroom accessories
We like a shabby chic bathroom, the traditional bathroom and also of course, the luxury spa-hotel bathroom. The shabby chic bathroom is sort of a blend between neglect and style. This version is best suited to those who have inherited a French chateau, the larger the bathroom space the better. It's a bit tricky to recreate in a flat in Shepherd's Bush but if you want to give it a go, the starting point is certainly the free standing bath tub. One thing we are probably likely to agree on: a
free standing bath tub looks much more impressive than a fitted one.
Whether your preference is for a shabby chic bathroom, a French style bathroom or a traditional Edwardian or Victorian style, free standing bath tubs play centre stage.Either a roll-top or a slipper bath will work, and although you don't want holes or rust, the more dilapidated it looks the better. We like a new bath for our precious skin so we would probably prefer just to give the outside paintwork a good rub down with sandpaper.
We checked out what customers were interested in at the moment and found that our tin covered
free standing bath tub was a huge hit. The writers at Living Etc loved it and it's not hard to see why. It's classic but modern and because of its silver finish it is going to fit in with any colour scheme or with any tap finish.
French bathroom furniture looks great in any of our favourite bathroom style. In the shabby chic bathroom counter top basins work well especially by being placed on a washstand or run-down vanity unit. In the more traditional bathroom, a sink in a
marble topped cupboard such as our Dunbar sink is a perfect addition. In fact the
Dunbar double bathroom sink is one of our favourite luxury additions to any bathroom. Two sinks are highly practical if you have kids, but how often do we find ourselves fighting for space with the other half? It is such a lovely feeling to have no queuing for the bathroom sink in the morning and anyway, the bathroom sink just looks so beautiful!
The clever use of accessories is also key to any beautiful bathroom. Even the harshest stark white bathroom can be softened or even vamped up with a few ideas and personal touches. Add a corner table or a chest of drawers with an elegant display of crystal perfume bottles, scented candles and other French bathroom accessories and you have the basics sorted.
You might think that getting the luxurious look of a spa-hotel bathroom is impossible for the budget of mere mortals like us, but with a little care, a good eye and using the right bathroom accessories the smart sophisticated finish can be achieved quite easily.
