Shabby chic home. Shabby chic at Brissi: less shabby, more chic.
Shabby chic has been a popular decorating style for the past 20 years. We are very fond of the shabby chic style and this is quite obvious if you look at our furniture and dining ranges. Even so, we can’t say that the Brissi style is represented entirely by shabby chic alone. In fact, when describing our style we are often asked: is it shabby chic? Is it New England inspired? Is it French? Here at Brissi, we are constantly striving to put together a style that will help reflect the homeowner in a creative and romantic way. We have taken the fundamental elements of a shabby chic home and combined it with a touch of glamour to create a modern, comfortable style.
We don’t believe in bland rooms, full of mass produced home furnishings, nor do we encourage the overuse of worn, chipped or broken shabby chic home accessories. Instead, Brissi loves the stylish marriage of things based on vintage designs and other pieces that are more modern.
So what are the hallmarks of the Brissi style? We love chalky colours such as grey and taupe mixed with lots and lots of refreshing white. Our matt, painted furniture with muted, linen covers are combined with accent pieces in silver. A touch of glamour is then added with crystal accessories such as our chandeliers and decanters, black and white family photos in silver frames and fresh cut flowers in an assortment of beautiful vases.
A Brissi home is welcoming and functional yet still elegant and seductive. So our version of shabby chic, or the shabby chic home, is definitely less shabby, more chic.
